Page 1 of 3 Desperados 2: Cooper's Revenge This is the follow-up to 2001's Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive, a character-based real-time strategy game that could best be summed up as Commandos set in the Old West rather than World War II. This is a genre of games that seems to have quietly faded over the past few years, but developer Spellbound is taking another crack at it with a sequel

Your job is to guide each character through the level, sometimes sneaking past guards when they're not looking and other times using a character's special ability to negotiate an obstacle. The characters In this game, you will control a gang of six bounty hunters on a rough and rowdy tour of the old Southwest. Each character you control has a unique set of skills and items you must master to survive the challenges you will face. It will take a combination of teamwork, stealth, deception and down-and-dirty gun slinging to survive. The characters are John Cooper, Kate O’Hara, Doc McCoy, Sam Williams, Sanchez and Hawkeye. Each character has his own items and skills. John Cooper has his lucky Colt, a six-barrel pistol that shoots faster than any other weapon, his knife that he can either throw or use it in hand-to-hand combat, and his watch which he can set to play music. Any curious enemy will come near the watch, giving John a chance to overpower the victim. | Kate O’Hara has her trusty Derringer, a small, quiet and discreet weapon capable of firing three rounds, a makeup kit that she uses to blow the powder in the enemies eyes. She can also seduce guards by revealing part of her beautiful leg. This distracts enemies, luring them away from their posts. As a last resort, she can faint and the nearby guards will come and see what is wrong. If there are more than two gentlemen, they will fight each other about her. | Doc, is basically a medic, but he can also pull out his sniper rifle and eliminate everything that moves within a long range. His main pistol is a Buntline, a six-barrel with an elongated barrel that gives it a longer range than Cooper’s Colt. He can also throw gas phials at guards, knocking them unconscious for some time. | Sam Williams just likes explosives. He can handle TNT, throw dynamite and even nitroglycerin cans that he turns to crude land mines. His main gun is a Winchester, with a 12 bullets capacity and greater range, but Sam needs to reload after each shot. | Sanchez is the big guy in the gang. If in Desperados he could have carried two bodies at the same time, now he has been reduced to carrying just one body. He does not like to drink tequila, but he will leave the bottles just lying around for any guard that might pick it up. Drinking the tequila, the guard will go out cold for a long period of time. Sanchez can also set bear traps to kill unsuspecting victims, or he can throw stone that will knock out cold any guard. He prefers a shotgun, with two rounds and with devastating effects at close range. | The last one, Hawkeye, uses a bow as his primary weapon and a tomahawk as a melee weapon. Do not be fooled by the crude design, because they are the quietest weapons in the game. Another skill is the War Cry. By using it, nearby guards who hear the noise will come and investigate and nearby Indians will attack them. Hawkeye can also heal, just like Doc. |
